Climate change

Climate change is a true shock amplifier, increasing the likelihood and consequence of risks such as extreme weather, drought and outbreaks of some diseases. With 700 million people worldwide living in coastal areas, climate-induced sea level rise and extreme events are also expected to increase the global flow of refugees. This brings the consequences of global climate change also to cities with well developed protective infrastructure like The Hague.
