In some areas our city is one of sharp dividing lines showing the spatial segregation of different communities and social classes. Segration is is not just about money and assets, it is also about liveability, cultural diversity, and equality of opportunities. Segregation potentially limits the social cohesion in our city and is associated with polarisation.
While the liveability in many neighbourhoods is improving, The Liveability index also highlights areas, like The Hague Southwest, that need investment and innovative thinking to better realise their potential.
The liveability index (Leefbaarometer) aggregates more than 100 indicators on housing, security, residents, facilities and the physical environment of neighbourhoods.
